I just got back from a wonderful weekend!
This past weekend was the 2016 GFWC Florida Fall Board Meeting. It was held in Orlando and BOY! was it busy!
I attended quite a few workshops on Education Programs, Public Relations, Public Issues and Leadership. I feel I learned quite a bit and had a few things more cemented in this brain of mine. I got to work at the Juniors’ Fundraising booth too, and wow! these ladies like to shop! Our table also holds the raffle baskets – which are a big draw.
We also ate quite a bit and had some fun!
Our Fun Night was a dance contest and party – and wow! there were some talented dancers!
During fun night, we also had a Virtual Finish Line for the St. Jude’s walk.
I finished! I forget my total mileage, but I got there!
I also made a few new friends and got to see some ladies I have not seen since May!
The weekend concluded yesterday after lunch – including an educational and sad set of speakers – being it was the 15th Anniversary of 9/11 and our Junior Project is Guardian ad Litem , and we watched a short video on some of the children supported by this program.
Lifting the mood a bit – raffles were drawn – and I won of the baskets!
It is Flamingo themed and oh so cute! Thanks Brandon Juniors! I love it!
Sounds like a lot of fun…Was there any mention of HOBY creator Hugh O’Brian?
Yes. We had a moment of silence of his passing.
I am glad to hear that…he was really a great person..and of course handsome.
